SALVAGE

Salvage was my senior show where I explored my personal identity, culture, and heritage in relationship to contemporary design principles and concepts. I designed experimental letterforms—drawing influence from Aztec and Mayan script—and contrasted them with a modern American gothic sans-serif typeface to test the limits of readability. The multiform text is further compounded by free-flowing, multi-dimensional lines that seem to unknowingly exist within the same space.  The overall design represents the convergence of unique themes and perspectives manifesting through the predominantly dichotomous lens of our western world.
